The 8th Annual Forum 35 Art Melt was a huge success. Art Melt is the largest juried art competition in Louisiana. And the winners for this year are as follows: 1st Place: Maggie McConnell "Little Fixes"; 2nd Place: Leonardo Madriz "Simultaneity of Presence and Absence"; 3rd Place: Robert Jones "Food For Thought"; Honorable Mention: Joshua Chambers "We Were More Than Friends"; Honorable Mention: Amy Guidry "Trophy"; Honorable Mention: Lissy Sanders "Forgetting #2"; Honorable Mention: Shannon Kolvitz "Used Tires"; and the Forum 35 Choice Award: Kyte Aymond "Monistic Tendency."

The artwork will be on display and for sale for six weeks following the event. You can also view and purchase the artwork in the Forum 35 store. The Art Melt helps promote professional artists within the Greater Baton Rouge community. The event showcases the high quality and variety of local artistic talent, and provides a venue for these artists to receive professional exposure - hopeful creating an increased desire fro them to remain here and contribute to the quality of life in our region. The event also receives support and participation from downtown galleries and merchants, and is attended by both artists and art collectors across the region. In addition, a partnership formed between Forum 35 and the Louisiana State Museum will provide expanded opportunities to promote the Art Melt throughout the arts community and Louisiana State Museum programming.

A multi- media, multi-sensory experience, guests enjoyed musical entertainment and live dance performances from the likes of the Mike Foster Project Brass Band, the DeBose Foundation, the Peter Simon Band, Baton Rouge Music Studios, the Greater Baton Rouge Marching Drum Corps and Starettes, the Baton Rouge Symphony Ensemble, Denise Gaines, Cangelosie Dance Project, Jebidiah Goodstuff's Pyromaniacal Olde-Tyme Traveling Sideshow, Baton Rouge Ballet, DJ Steven Weber, and manymore!
