Art Melt 2010 Displays Nearly 100 Louisiana Artists

More than 500 pieces of Louisiana art were submitted, and 97 pieces have been chosen for display. The artwork will represent submissions from more than 35 parishes throughout the state.

The jurors for this year’s accepted art submissions were Paul Dean, Associate Professor at the LSU School of Art; Denny Mecham, Executive Director of the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art in Biloxi, Mississippi; and Andrea Pollan, Executive Director of the Curator’s Office in Washington, D.C. Prizes were awarded for first place ($2,000), second place ($1,000) and third place ($500). In addition, the Brunner Gallery sponsored a Special Arts, Country Roads sponsored the first annual People’s Choice Award, and Forum 35 sponsored an award.
