Art Melt 2011 Jurors

Rachel Wolff is a Brooklyn-based critic, writer, and editor. She covers art for New York magazine, The New York Times, Town & Country, The Daily Beast, Bloomberg Businessweek, Art + Auction, Modern Painters, ARTnews, Chicago magazine, and Manhattan magazine, where she serves as a contributing editor. She has reviewed exhibitions of Impressionist, Modern, Postwar, and Contemporary art around the world and has profiled such artists and curators as Louise Lawler, Wynn ChamberlainJeff KoonsSue WilliamsBrion GysinJules de BalincourtAmy Sillman, and Francesco Bonami, in addition to many NYC-based up-and-comers. She is a member of the U.S. chapter of the International Association of Art Critics and in 2009 participated in the NEA's International Arts Journalism Institute in Visual Arts. Benjamin Hickey is the Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Masur Museum of Art in Monroe, Louisiana.  Hickey holds a Master’s degree in art history from the University of California, Riverside.  His research and exhibition interests include contemporary sculpture and social history.  Prior to his current position he served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Art History at Canisius College.  He also served as Media Relations Liaison with the UCR ARTSblock and as Exhibition Coordinator for the Arts Council in Buffalo & Erie County.

Kelli Scott Kelley was born in Baton Rouge, LA. She received her BFA from Louisiana State University and her MFA from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She left Baton Rouge for 15 years, living in the San Francisco Bay area and Houston, then returned to her home state with her husband, composer Bill Kelley to raise their son and teach at LSU. Since 1987, her work has been primarily comprised of mixed -media narrative paintings, drawings and objects. She has also collaborated with Bill Kelley on surreal performances and video pieces. Kelley's paintings have been exhibited in many venues including: the Mesic Ve Dne Gallerie in Czeske, Budejovice, Czech Republic, Bangalore University in Bangalore, India, the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston, the Museum of Modern Art in Fort Worth, TX, and Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art in Boulder, CO. In 2003 Kelley was awarded a Louisiana Division of the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship. Her art is represented by Hooks-Epstein Gallery in Houston. Kelley is an Associate Professor of Painting at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where she currently lives with her husband and son.
